When my local paper, the Enterprise-Record, ran this editorial cartoon on Sunday August 6, 2006 I was saddened but not overly surprised. Anti-Semitism is growing everywhere.

Those who know me know that I believe the United States is being taken over by what can only be referred to as a conspiracy to establish a global corporate plutocracy (the Novus Ordo Seclorum). The US is no longer a Democratic Republic, but a fascist plutocracy. The battle for Democracy has been lost. What remains is merely the semblance of freedom. In short, whoever the real terrorists are, they have won and "We the People" have lost.

It is well known that GW Bush lost the first presidential election and that the Democrats, for reasons known only to Washington Insiders, allowed this travesty to happen. It is also very likely that GW Bush lost his bid for reelection; however, this can never be proven because the United States no longer uses verifiable balloting techniques. With the new computerized voting booths, it is no longer possible to verify election results. With the push of a button campaign losers become winners and winners become losers.

Nonetheless, some times the propaganda machine is so blatant that I feel I must respond. This recent cartoon from the Chico CA. Enterprise-Record is such a case.

Along the right side of this page, you find my published letter to the paper's editor. Below you will find the original letter I submitted that the paper refused to print "due to space limitations."

          Shame on the Enterprise-Record!

What has prompted the editors to post this anti-Semitic cartoon under "Opinions" in the August 6, 2006 paper? The offensive image shows two men standing beside a bomb crater. One asks, "Why are they [the Israelis] bombing Mel Gibson's House?" The other replies, "Israel has the right to defend itself."

In the first place, the Jewish community, while understandably upset over Mel Gibson's anti-Semitic and biblically inaccurate snuff film "The Passion of the Christ," voiced its concerns with intelligence and reason; no violence followed the release of the picture by Jews against anyone. You will recall that that film depicted drooling naked red-eyed Jewish child-demons hissing demonic hatred, showed far more than the 39 lashes the New Testament says were inflicted on Jesus (I quite counting at 50), depicted the leaders and people of Israel as monsters who deserved the horrors that later came upon the Jewish people, etc. etc. It was a blasphemous and offensive film whether one is Jewish or Christian (though sadly some Christians seemed to enjoy this mean-spirited gore-fest).

Now, after giving away significant sections of their country for peace as recommended by the US and other world powers, Israel is still being attacked, their cities bombed, their people kidnapped, and so with no other options, they retaliate and defend themselves. Had terrorists working inside of Mexico or Canada done to the US what Hezbollah (Syria and Iran) were doing to Israel we would have flattened those countries and overthrown their governments long ago.

Remember the Cuban Missile Crisis? No missiles were ever fired at the US, but the US was ready to initiate World War III simply because of the presence of the Russian bombs in Cuba! Israel's enemies not only have bombs, they are firing them into Israel's cities! Eretz Israel is practicing incredible self-discipline in the face of this intended genocide, and your paper insults them with this cartoon!

The cartoon reminds me of the old Nazi propaganda pieces, and I don't use such comparisons lightly. During a time when the leader of Iran (who everyone knows holds the leash of Hezbollah) is calling for all the Jews of Israel to be "swept into the sea" in another Shoah, why on earth would your paper print a cartoon condemning victims who are trying to avoid this clearly intended genocide? This is a very sad commentary on your newspaper!

First they came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up,because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up, because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me.
