This study has explored various topics, some in detail and some cursory. There is much more on these topics on my various websites.
The central question has been: Has Mashiach come and was/is he Adon Y'shua the Nazarene?
Most Jews and Noahides will answer "no" to both questions. Had Mashiach come, they tell us, the Kingdom would have been established and this question would be moot.
They are correct.
Those who claim such people are merely being obstinate or are ignoring the facts are unacquainted with the facts themselves. Clearly the essential prophecies concerning the Branch (netser) of Jesse/Yishai (Isaiah 11:1) have not yet been fulfilled as I demonstrated in the early portions of this study.
Most Nicene Christians (i.e. those who base their faith on the doctrines espoused in the Nicene Creed rather than in the Word of HaShem) will answer yes. They claim that "Jesus" fulfilled all the messianic prophecies.
They are clearly incorrect.
Any news article or even stepping out ones front door will show the messianic prophecies have not yet been fulfilled. We need to be clear on this! How will we ever reach Torah knowledgeable people with the Good News when so many of our doctrines are in direct contradiction to the Word of HaShem and history? Anomos (Torah rejection) has crippled the witness of the talmidim (students) of Y'shua!
Neither the Bible nor direct experience agrees with the Nicene claim that the messianic prophecies have been fulfilled. The essential prophecies clearly remain unfulfilled.
Most people assume these are the only two possible answers to this question:
Either Adon Y'shua was/is Mashiach and fulfilled all the prophecies or he was/is not Mashiach and hence did not fulfill them.
Showing a third possible answer to this question has been the intention of this study:
Adon Y'shua the Nazarene is now the global Cohen Gadol and he will be Mashiach (Messiah) once the Times of the Goyim (Gentiles) has ended.
Nicene Christians often cite C.S. Lewis' trilemma that "Jesus was either a Liar, Lunatic or Lord" without understanding the error of this assumption.
Adon Y'shua is what he, the biblical prophets and his talmidim said: He is the ever obedient (John 5:19) Firstborn Son (Romans 8:29, Colossians 1:15) of Adonai, Cohen Gadol (I Timothy 2:5) and coming Mashiach (Acts 1:11, Revelation 22:20) and Redeemer of the world (I Corinthians 1:30,31).
The Lewis' trilemma is disingenuous as it is based not in scripture by in human reason based on his acceptance of the Nicene Creed.
שמע ישראל ה 'הוא האלוהים שלנו הוא אחד
Shema Yisrael Adonai Elohaynu Adonai Echad
"Hear Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One"
The purpose of this study has been to demonstrate this third option to the question:
- Clearly the essential Messianic prophecies have not yet been fulfilled:
Israel is not the sole global power. Israel is not being led by Mashiach sitting on David's Throne. The Beit HaMikdash (House of the Holy One) does not stand upon Mount Zion (rather the Moon god's Al Aqsa Mosque is still there!). Adon Y'shua is not alive physically and living and ruling in Jerusalem. Crime, warfare, antisemitism, poverty, disease, injustices of every kind, cruelty to animals etc. etc. continues to ravage the Earth.
-- The Jews and Noahides are obviously correct about this.
- Adon Y'shua was clear that he would not fulfill the Messianic prophecies at that time.
- Through his obedience unto death Adon Y'shua earned the position of Cohen Gadol (Mediator for all humanity: Colossians 1:14). Y'shua has served the Father in this post since returning to Shamayim (Heaven).
- Adon Y'shua and his emissaries are clear that he will return to this earth once the Times of the Gentiles are fulfilled (Luke 21:24) and take on the role of HaMashiach, King of Israel. And he will.
- By faith in HaShem's Word (Y'shua: John 1:1-3) we can rightly refer to our master as Y'shua HaMashiach even though he has not yet fulfilled the prophecies by which he will put on that mantle in due course.
Furthermore:
- Traditional contemporary Judaism (in all its movements) maintains most of the traits Adon Y'shua sought to reform, especially legalism.
Under the B'rit Hadashah (New Covenant) instituted through Adon Y'shua the Torah remains in effect (Matthew 5:18, I Peter 1:24/25), interpreted according to loving service rather than legalistic observance.
- Traditional contemporary Christianity (in all its denominations and sects) maintains most the essential anti-Torah errors of the Nicolaitan heresies (Revelation chapters 2 and 3). These errors have been codified in the Nicene Creed and are embraced by the vast majority of people who identify themselves as Christians. Those hoping to resist the wiles of the coming Rex Mundi and be counted among the Great Multitude who will stand are advised to seriously study the Scriptures to confirm that their teaching are harmonious with the revealed Word of HaShem (Acts 17:11). The call to come out of the emerging Babylon will soon be declared (Revelation 18:4) and indeed is already in effect (II Corinthians 6:19).
- Much of the emerging Noahide and Messianic sects are maintaining the errors of their Jewish and Nicean teachers: Noahides (rabbinical legalism and an unbalanced view of Y'shua) and Messianics/Nazarenes (the doctrines of the Nicolaitans).
So what makes me think I'm right and everyone else is wrong?
That's a fair question!
First, I am far from alone in my essential views. While there is no organized group that holds these views I speak with lots of people who tell me they are in basic agreement with what I write.
Be that as it may be however, I'm not claiming to have "the answers." I merely offer my understandings to those who are interested. People can take them or leave them. Like everyone else who is sincere and serious about these topics, my beliefs are the result of my years of prayerful studies into the Word. When I discover errors in my beliefs I rectify them. I am not locked into any established creed. I seek only the Truth. If you believe I am mistaken I sincerely invite you to demonstrate that.
As to whether I am right or wrong in my views, it doesn't really matter for you! What matters for you is your relationship with Adonai! If my research opens avenues of thought for you it has been successful!
Take what the Ruach HaKodesh impresses on your heart and mind as true and leave the rest on a shelf.
I'm only sharing what I have found thus far.
Only you can determine your relationship with HaShem and Adon Y'shua the Nazarene.
If I have assisted you in some way I am happy.
If my studies have not helped you, I am still happy because I have done as HaShem has led me to the best of my ability. That's the best any of can do.
Adon Y'shua promises: "Seek and you will find" (Matthew 7:7)
Adon Y'shua teaches: "Salvation is of the Jews" (John 4:22)
And GOD said to Avraham Avinu:
"Get yourself out of your country, away from your kinsmen and away from your father's house, and go to the land that I will show you.
I will make of you a great nation, I will bless you, and I will make your name great; and you are to be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you, but I will curse anyone who curses you; and by you all the families of the earth will be blessed"
Genesis 12:1-3
The Truth is going to be harmonious with the Torah given to the Jews.
As always, the choice is yours.
Adon Y'shua our Cohen Gadol and coming Mashiach invites:
Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Here Ends my Study Identifying the Mashiach.
