    Conversion to Judaism is a rather complex issue. The information on my conversion page will hopefully be helpful to those considering this option. For those interested in converting to Judaism, the best course seems to be to gather information on Judaism and its various movements in order to determine which movement(s) to approach, then to find a synagogue in your area, and speak with the people there for specific information in your case.

Go to: Tikun and Jewish Renewal

    "Jewish Renewal is a new movement within Judaism. It is a kind of neo-Hasidism, in that it seeks the spiritual renewal of Judaism, but "neo" because it insists on full equality for women and a creative return to the process of transforming Halakhah (Jewish law) so that it continues to be a living path to connection to God."

Go to: The Karaite Jews of America

    Judaism, like Christianity and Islam, has developed throughout the years different ideas and beliefs by members of the Jewish communities who, at the time, were dissatisfied with the "status quo."
    In general this dissatisfaction could be traced to political and socioeconomic reasons, as well as to different religious beliefs. As a result, many Jewish sects appeared, preaching their beliefs and hoping to carry out the changes they felt were necessary.
    Of all the Jewish sects that appeared during the long history of Judaism and they were many - none was able to have as serious an effect on the Jewish mainstream as the sect of Kairism. Kara ism, whose adherents are called Kairites, strongly challenged the mainstream and, to some extent, threatened its existence, and was able at times to attract 40 percent of the whole Jewish population. Kairism is the only Jewish sect besides that of the Samaritans that still exists today.

I Believe

I believe in the sun,
Even when it is not shining;
I believe in love,
Even when not feeling it;
I believe in God,
Even when He is silent.
