Shellfish A response by John of AllFaith, Feb. 2007 |

Subject: ShellfishQuestion:
The bible also clearly states you should not eat shellfish.
So, Jesus is the lens we look through, but the Bible is not infallible.
Correct?
John of AllFaith's reply
Hi Cindy,
From a traditional Baptist viewpoint, the KJV of the Bible is completely infallible.
In this case, this isn't the issue however.
Shellfish and several other things are forbidden under the Law of Moses that do not apply to Christians. This is not a contradiction or whatever you may be assuming but the fact that Christians are not under the Law of Moses but under Grace. Jews who observe the 613 laws of the Torah still don't eat shellfish.
As Christians, we depend on Jesus' saving grace rather than on the Law of Moses.
Hope this helps,
