Gay Adoption and the Catholic Church A response by John of AllFaith, Nov. 2006 |
Questioner: Marick
Subject: gay adoption and the catholic churchQuestion:
do you think that gay adoption is going against the holy bible? wouldn't god rather have liked us to give homes to poor foster children?
John of AllFaith's reply
Hi Marick,
For something to be against the Bible it must either violate the Scriptures or violate the principles of the Scriptures.
In my opinion, neither is the case here.
Same gendered people can make wonderful parents, many are better parents than heterosexual couples at it. It all depends on the people involved. I think children want to live in safe, loving environments. As far as I'm concerned, sexual orientation is not factor.
In God's love,
